Zhunusov Saken Nurmakovich was born in 1934 in the village of Kziltu, Kziltu district, Kokchetav region. He graduated from the philological faculty of the Kazakh State University named after S.M.Kirov and postgraduate studies at KazSU. The beginning of creative activity of the young writer belongs to student years. Most of the first works of the writer were addressed to children. The beginning of creative activity of the young writer belongs to student years. Most of the first works of the writer were addressed to children. In 1959 the first book - a collection of stories ‘Sonarda’ was published in the Kazakh language. In 1965 the novel ‘House in the Steppe’ was published, which attracted the attention of readers and was translated into Russian. In 1967, the Kazakh Academic Drama Theatre named after M.O.Auezov staged a play based on Saken Zhunusov's play ‘Stronger than Death’. The writer was engaged in artistic translation. He translated into Kazakh P.Fedorov's novel ‘Blue Shihan’ and Stefan Zweig's short story ‘Letter of a Stranger’. The collection of Karaganda Regional Library named after Abay contains works by S.
