Vorokhobin Vladimir Kuzmich. Soviet and Kazakhstani artist-painter. A participant of the Great Patriotic War. Member of the USSR Academy of Arts since 1975. Vladimir Vorokhobin was born in Ukraine in 1923. A year later he found himself in a Kiev orphanage. After graduating from the seven-year school he entered the Dnepropetrovsk Art School, where he studied until the war. Not having completed his studies, from the last course he went to war as a volunteer, graduated from the military infantry school. He was awarded the Order of Patriotic War II degree and medals of the USSR. In 1944, he was wounded in both legs and lay on the battlefield for more than a day. He was picked up by local residents. And in the basement of one of the houses in the occupied city a surgeon amputated his legs alive. Even after such trials Vladimir Vorokhobin did not break down. He began to work in the agitbrigade, drew posters, leaflets. In 1947, having moved to Saran, first he taught drawing to children, then he became an artist-designer of the Karaganda art fund. Vorokhobin Vladimir is someone who in his own realistic manner participated in the creation of the fine arts of Kazakhstan. His works reflect industrial formation of a miner's edge, transfer realities and faces of war. ‘As long as I live, I will never stop painting this land, admire any manifestation of beauty’, - said the artist. скрыть
