Sokolov Gennady Valentinovich is a Russian artist, illustrator with a long career and vast experience of work, including work with digital technologies. He is a member of the Artists Union of Russia. His main area of activity is children's books. From 1968 to 1970 he served in the Soviet Army as an artist. Sokolov Gennady Valentinovich is a Russian artist, illustrator with a long career and vast experience of work, including work with digital technologies. He is a member of the Artists Union of Russia. His main area of activity is children's books. From 1968 to 1970 he served in the Soviet Army as an artist. After the service he returned to his hometown to the factory, worked as an artist and attended classes in the art studio of the Palace of Culture under the guidance of a wonderful watercolourist Anatoly Illarionovich Popov. In 1971 he was invited to study at the Moscow Polygraphic Institute at the preparatory department. In 1972 he entered full-time study at the Moscow Polygraphic Institute at the faculty of artistic and technical design of printed products. While still studying he began to co-operate with the Moscow publishing house ‘Molodaya Gvardiya’ as an illustrator. In 1977 he graduated from the institute, specialising as a graphic artist. Sokolov illustrated books by famous writers: A. Aleksin, V. Billevich, K. Bulychev, L. Geraskina, T. Kryukova, O. Henry, V. Dragunsky, A. Lindgren, M. Reed, E. Uspensky and others. скрыть
