Sanosyan Sarkis Manukovich Sanosyan. Soviet and Kazakh artist - painter, graphic artist. Honoured Art Worker of the Kazakh SSR. He was born on 5 February 1922 in the village of Karmir, Novobozazet region of the Armenian SSR. Graduated from four courses of Yerevan Art College (1938-1942). In 1954 after imprisonment in KarLag, was in Karaganda. Participant of exhibitions since 1956. Member of the USSR Academy of Arts since 1961. In the works of Karaganda S. M. Sanosyan gave a significant role for industrial landscapes, poetic and beautiful in colour: ‘Toparskaya GRES’ (1970), ‘Irtysh-Karaga Canal’ (1974), ‘Coal and the City’, ‘Miners’ Village’, “Mine 1-st Vertical”, “Mine named after S. M. Kirov”, “View of the mine 50th anniversary of October” (70-80-ies), paintings ’Magnitogorsk. 1-st blast furnace’, ’Magnitogorsk. 4-th blast furnace’, “Domna 9-th Five-Year Plan” (1975), “Red Blast Furnace”, “Rhythms of Magnitogorsk”, “Kazakhstan Magnitogorsk”. The works are distinguished by metaphorical language, emphasised rhythmicity, and decorativeness. Industrial development of Central Kazakhstan had a decisive influence on the formation of ‘severe’ style in the artist's work. Sanosyan's colours are symbolic; he does not so much colour objects as reveal their essence. In the 70s, the lyropoetic beginning in the work of the painter intensifies. It may be nostalgia, a pinching feeling of the irrecoverability of the passing. Lyrically perceived work ‘Abandoned wicket’. The works are kept in art museums and galleries of Kazakhstan, private collections. скрыть
