The first impressionist and one of the first representatives of the European school of painting in South Kazakhstan. Fyodor Sergeevich's whole life was connected with Central Asia. He travelled a lot and, wherever he went, from all his trips he brought landscapes painted from life. The artist dedicated his most mature works to the South of Kazakhstan, it seems that there is not a single piece of land in South Kazakhstan Region, where Fedor Potekhin has not visited with his sketchbook.
