Fyodor Potekhin. Member of the USSR Union of Artists since 1958. Born in a large peasant family in the village of Bogorodsk, Sharlyk district, Orenburg region. In 1943 he moved to Turkestan. Here he entered a craftsman's school. In 1947 he entered the Benkov Russian Art University in Tashkent. Worked as a teacher at the art school in 1959 - 1960. Here he entered a craftsman's school. In 1947 he entered the Benkov Russian Art University in Tashkent. Worked as a teacher at the art school in 1959 - 1960. The first impressionist and one of the first representatives of the European school of painting in South Kazakhstan. Fyodor Sergeevich's whole life was connected with Central Asia. He travelled a lot and, wherever he went, from all his trips he brought landscapes painted from life. The artist dedicated his most mature works to the South of Kazakhstan, it seems that there is not a single piece of land in South Kazakhstan Region, where Fedor Potekhin has not visited with his sketchbook.
