Parshin Vil

Parshin Vil Semyonovich. Graphic artist. Was born in Tashkent. Studied at the Republican Art School (1944-1949) under P.Gan, at the Vilnius Art Institute (1951-1957) under I.Kuzminskis. Honoured Artist of Uzbekistan (1982). Parshin mainly works with hardware graphics. Parshin's creativity is characterised by cheerful mood, open humour, everyday life issues are described simply: ‘1966 26 April After’ (dedicated to the Tashkent earthquake) collection of linocuts (1967); series ‘Cotton Festival’ (1967), ‘We live here’ (1967); Engravings used in the album ‘Navoi’, linocuts by Turkumi ‘First Steps’ (1971) and others.
