Karakulov, studio ‘Kazakhfilm’ named after Sh. Aimanov (Grand Prix IFF in Taormina - 94, Italy). In 1995 on a competitive basis was trained in the Theatre of Drama and Comedy on Taganka. Restored the design of the play ‘Tartuffe’ by J.-B. Moliere directed by Y. Lyubimov. He trained at the Bolshoi Theatre (GABT) over the curtain for the young Covent Garden Ballet. In 1996 he graduated from the V. I. Surikov Moscow State Academic Art Institute and was enrolled as an intern in theatre and decorative arts at the Russian Academy of Arts (RAKh) on a competitive basis. In 1997 he was invited to the 2nd Central Asian Games in Almaty as an artist for ‘artistic background’. In 1998 he created a number of scenographies for the Kazakh Drama Theatre named after M. Auezov for the plays ‘Ybyrai’ (Sh. Khusainova), ‘Shagala’ (‘The Seagull’ by A. P. Chekhov) directed by B. Atabayev. At the festival of performances of the same year in Almaty he was awarded the Special Prize ‘Best Scenic Designer’. In the works of the artist traced theatricality.
