Tabyldy Mukatov was born in 1947 in the village of Orpa, Atyrau region. Kazakhstani artist-painter. Member of the Artists Union of Kazakhstan. He graduated from Almaty Art College named after N.V.Gogol (modern Almaty College of Decorative and Applied Arts named after Oral Tansykbaev) and Lviv Polygraphic University. After graduation he constantly participated in international, all-Union and republican exhibitions. Since 1975 he worked as an art editor in the publishing house ‘Zhazushy’. He graduated from Almaty Art College named after N.V.Gogol (modern Almaty College of Decorative and Applied Arts named after Oral Tansykbaev) and Lviv Polygraphic University. After graduation he constantly participated in international, all-Union and republican exhibitions. Since 1975 he worked as an art editor in the publishing house ‘Zhazushy’. Mukatov was involved in the design of books by such famous writers as Auezov, Dzhansugurov, Zhunusov and Hemingway. A unique edition of poems by Makhambet Utemisov, published specially for the 200th anniversary of the great poet, was honoured with a UNESCO gold medal in 2003. Illustrating books, Mukatov also found time to paint pictures telling about the life of inhabitants of small villages. He participated in republican and all-Union exhibitions, exhibitions of posters and book graphics in Bulgaria. Lived and worked in Almaty. Works by Tabyldy Mukatov are kept in the collection of the State Museum of Fine Arts named after A. Kasteev, private collections of Kazakhstan, Germany, Great Britain, France, Denmark. скрыть
