Martova Anna Mikhailovna. Kazakhstani artist, portraitist, who stood at the origins of the formation of Kazakhstani painting. She was born in the town of Verny. She studied in the studio of N.G. Khludov. In 1932-1936 studied at the Institute for Advanced Training of Art Workers in Leningrad. In 1942 she moved to Almaty, where she lived and worked. Anna Mikhailovna's favourite genre was portraiture, works include portraits of such great people of Kazakhstan as I. Altynsarin and Ch. Valikhanov. She wrote ‘Portrait of Abai’ (1945) dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Abai's birth. A characteristic feature of her work is emotional expression, vividness, completeness of the image. Her work ‘Portrait - sketch of a Kazakh girl’, created in 1946, has been preserved. Her image radiates warmth, calmness, despite the presence of bright colours. Admiring the works of Martova Anna, created in the last century, involuntarily think about the inexorable flow of time, about the people who lived at that time. The artist managed to capture these images so well and in such a realistic interpretation. The works are presented in the State Museum of Arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after A. Kasteev. скрыть
