In 1973 graduated from the Tashkent State Theatre and Art Institute named after A. N. Ostrovsky. For a long time worked at the art school named after N.V.Gogol (modern Almaty College of Decorative and Applied Arts named after Oral Tansykbaev), taught at the Academy of Architecture and Construction, as well as for the purpose of testing his programme on Fine Arts worked in the secondary school № 77. The artist loves and often uses subtle gradations of shades in his canvases. The master's works tell about simple human feelings and experiences. He created a bright gallery of portraits of people of labour, figures of Uyghur science and culture (1980 - 1990). His paintings are imbued with deep love for human beings, so they awaken warm feelings. Hitakhunov is a laureate of the All-Union contest ‘Young Guard of the Country of Soviets’. He was awarded medals of the Academy of Arts of the USSR, a medal of the Artists Union of the USSR.
