Kenbaev Moldakhmet Syzdykovich. Painter. Honoured Art Worker of the Kazakh SSR (1963). Awarded the Order of the Badge of Honour. Born in Kyzyl-Orda in 1925 in the family of a poor peasant. He was brought up in an orphanage after the death of his father. All his free time was devoted to drawing and painting in an isokrug. Kenbaev Moldakhmet Syzdykovich. Painter. Honoured Art Worker of the Kazakh SSR (1963). Awarded the Order of the Badge of Honour. Born in Kyzyl-Orda in 1925 in the family of a poor peasant. He was brought up in an orphanage after the death of his father. All his free time was devoted to drawing and painting in an isokrug. Having finished seven classes, in 1941 entered the Almaty Theatre and Art School. Graduated from the Gogol Academy of Arts (modern Almaty College of Decorative and Applied Arts named after Oral Tansykbaev), his graduation work ‘Suyunshi’ (Herald of Joy), was dedicated to his native Kazakh steppe. The theme of ‘life in the steppe’ and subsequently remained one of the favourite themes in the artist's work. From 1951 - 1956 he studied at the Moscow State Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov at F.P. Reshetnikov, V. Nechitailo. They instilled in him a great love for nature and thematic painting. From 1956 worked in Almaty. Professor of painting and drawing of architectural and construction faculty of the Kazakh State Polytechnic Institute (modern Kazakh National Research Technical University named after K.I. Satpayev) in 1965-1980, since 1980 - Almaty Architectural and Construction Institute (modern Kazakh Head Architectural and Construction Academy). Participant of exhibitions since 1949. Author of historical and landscape-genre pictures. Works of the artist widely reflect the national character, glorify the life and traditions of Kazakhs. Works of the artist, mainly devoted to the steppe life of Kazakhs, the nature of Kazakhstan (‘Catching a Horse’, 1957; ‘On the Foothills’, 1967; ‘Song of a Shepherd’; ‘Koshmodelanie’, 1958; ‘A. Dzhangildin's Detachment’, 1957). The best of them are kept in the Tretyakov Gallery, in the collection of the State Museum of Arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after A. Kasteev. скрыть
