Kalimov Mukhit Galimovich. Kazakh painter. Professor, teacher. He was born in Zelenyi aul of Yesbolsky (now Indersky) district of Atyrau region. In 1958 graduated from Almaty Art School named after N.V.Gogol (modern Almaty College of Decorative and Applied Arts named after Oral Tansykbaev). In 1964 graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after I.E. Repin, studied in the workshop of Ioganson, Zaitsev. In 1980 he moved to work at the Almaty Architectural and Construction Institute, where he headed the department of painting and drawing. Since 1985 - he became an associate professor of the department of painting of the Almaty Theatre and Art Institute. The author of methodical developments on technique and technology of painting, he worked tirelessly, knowing by experience the power of example for students. Mukhit Kalimov is a bright representative of the classics of Kazakhstani art of the twentieth century. He contributed to the creation of the national language of painting. Excellent academic education allowed the artist to realise his ideas, creating a variety of landscape, portrait and genre works. For the creation of images of Isatay Taymanov and Makhambet Utemisov in 1996 he became a laureate of the prize named after M. Utemisov. Participant of republican, union and international exhibitions.
