D. entered and in 1980 graduated from the Kazakh Pedagogical Institute named after Abay. Abay Kazakh Pedagogical Institute, specialising in drawing. After graduation from the Institute, he worked in the Almaty Combine of Fine Arts ‘Oner’ as an artist. In these and subsequent years Oleg Dmitrievich takes an active part in exhibitions of young artists of Kazakhstan, All-Union exhibitions and Republican exhibitions.
