Isabayev Isatay Nuryshevich - graphic artist. Honoured Art Worker of the Kazakh SSR (1988), Honoured Worker of Kazakhstan (1991), winner of the independent award ‘Tarlan’ (2004). Isatay Isabaev was born on 18 February 1936 in Taldykorgan region. In 1965 he graduated from the Moscow Polygraphic Institute, where he studied under Andrei Goncharov, a famous graphic artist and painter. Isabayev was fluent in all types of prints - woodcut, linocut, etching techniques, aquatint, autolithography, dry needle technique, mezzotint, etc. Also is the author of pictorial works.
