Dzhusupov Ali Askarovich. Soviet and Kazakhstani artist-painter. Born in 1928 in the city of Dzhambul, he was orphaned at the age of four and brought up in various orphanages in Dzhambul, Kazalinsk, Turkestan. In 1948 he became a student of the art school in Frunze (now Bishkek). In 1969 he graduated from the Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in Leningrad (St. Petersburg). Since 1959 he worked in Almaty. His landscapes bear the subtlety of the artist's observations, sincerity and directness of his feelings for nature. He created a gallery of portrait works, in which Jusupov endeavoured to show multifaceted characters of people, creatively and spiritually rich. Ali Dzhusupov chose motherhood as one of the main themes of his art. He devoted his first paintings to this theme. The painting ‘Women of my Motherland’ (1965) became a textbook for Kazakhstani art. The best works of Dzhusupov include the painting ‘First Reading’ (1960s), ‘Mountains in Winter. In the evening’, “The first snow in the mountains” (1961), “Issyk wakes up”, “Morning over Lake Issyk” (1962), “Sea Symphony”, “Spring”, “View of Kretinga” (1963), “Women of my homeland” (1965), “Portrait of Jamal Omarova”, ’Portrait of K.
