Burgaev Anatoly. Kazakh artist-painter. Member of the Artists Union of the USSR (1970). Honoured Art Worker of Kazakhstan (1991). Chairman of the Artists Union in Northern Kazakhstan (1970-1991). Born on 13 May 1939 in Tavda, Sverdlovsk region. Since 1941 he lived in Kazakhstan, Petropavlovsk. In 1963 he graduated from the Art and Graphic Department of the Omsk State Pedagogical Institute named after M. Gorky. Born on 13 May 1939 in Tavda, Sverdlovsk region. Since 1941 he lived in Kazakhstan, Petropavlovsk. In 1963 he graduated from the Art and Graphic Department of the Omsk State Pedagogical Institute named after M. Gorky. Author of numerous works of monumental art, including: ‘Folk Melodies’, “Happiness”, “Our Strength in Unity”, “Projection”, which were created in the techniques of mosaic, stained glass, marquetry, relief, painting and others. He painted portraits of outstanding figures of culture, art, politics of Kazakhstan. Since 2001 he has been working on recreating the portrait of Kozhabergen Zhyrau. Famous works: ‘Ancient Turkic Signs’, ‘Altai Sun Holiday’, ‘Rose of the World’, ‘Pantheons of Religions’, ‘World Mountain’, ‘Resonances of Asia’, ‘Sunheads in Love’. His works are a variety of stylistic directions. Sign painting, rock paintings, various Turkic symbols, and, of course, the depiction of people of different centuries - from ancient mythology to ancient civilisation.
