Bortnikov Alexei. Kazakh painter, graphic artist. Member of the Artists Union of the USSR since 1958. Honoured Art Worker of the Kazakh SSR. Belongs to the pleiad of artists of the older generation. He was born on 25 February 1909 in the village of Karmakchi, Kyzyl-Orda region. In the 20s of the twentieth century he studied in the art studio of N. Khludov in the city of Verny (Almaty). He was born on 25 February 1909 in the village of Karmakchi, Kyzyl-Orda region. In the 20s of the twentieth century he studied in the art studio of N. Khludov in the city of Verny (Almaty). He continued his art education in 1928-1932 in Odessa in the ‘Odessa Art Institute’, studied at D. Krainey. After graduation from the Institute worked in Almaty, since 1938 he taught at the Almaty Art School named after N.V.Gogol (modern Almaty College of Decorative and Applied Arts named after Oral Tansykbaev), was a participant of many art exhibitions since 1933. He is the author of the paintings ‘Speech of D.Furmanov at the meeting of rebels in Verny’ (1940) and ‘N.G.Khludov on dzhailau’ (1960). Bortnikov A.I. dedicated the painting ‘Khludov on dzhailau’ to his teacher, the artist Khludov N.G., who came to Kazakhstan in 1879. скрыть
