Season 1932-1933 he already works as an assistant set designer in the theatre of Vologda. In 1934 Igor Balkhozin moved to Almaty and entered the Russian Drama Theatre, first as an artist-decorator, and then as a production designer. From 1934 to 1986, he was an artist-decorator of the Russian Drama Theatre in Almaty, having decorated 171 performances in this theatre alone during this time. Since 1957 Balkhozin worked as the chief artist of the theatre, where the stage for him has always been defined as a part of the world, inseparably connected with it. The artist has 50 years of creative activity, a lot of decorated performances, meetings with plays of different playwrights, actors, directors and other talented people. The artist often participated in productions of other theatres, as well as in exhibitions of the Artists Union of the Kazakh SSR. ‘With his work, I.B.
