Babad Emilia Naumovna. Soviet and Kazakh artist. Member of the Artists Union of Kazakhstan (1957). Babad was born in Kiev. In 1934 she graduated from courses at the Kiev Art Institute learning from L. Kramarenko. Worked in Almaty since 1937. Emiliya Babad wrote in the chamber genre, favoured still life, finding beauty in inanimate objects. The works ‘Whole Wheat Bread’ and ‘Still Life with Bagels’ represent the crown of labour of farmers, the source of life.
