Such paintings by Aitbaev as ‘A Boy with a Camel’, ‘Meeting of a Shepherd’, ‘Yurt’, ‘Stallion’, ‘Girl at the Yurt’ (1974) became a vivid example of his rural passions. In 1966, for a series of paintings ‘My Homeland’ the artist won the Lenin Komsomol Prize. Aitbaev's works of portrait genre ‘Portrait of Anuar Alimzhanov’ (1970), ‘Portrait of an Old Man’ (1971), ‘Mother’ (1973), ‘Father’, ‘Shepherd’ (1974), ‘Grandfather and Grandchildren’ (1974), ‘Portrait of Sister Kurlan’, ‘Woman in Red’, ‘Portrait of E. Mergenov’ (1987), ‘Abai’ (1994) are marked by high mastery. A series of works devoted to architectural monuments of medieval Khiva are marked by high mastery. In addition to painting, Aitbayev was also engaged in illustration and co-operated with famous Kazakhstani writers. He designed collections of poems by Olzhas Suleimenov ‘Clay Book’, ‘Sunny Nights’, ‘Year of the Monkey’, three-volume edition of ‘Kazakh folk tales’ and others. Painting and graphic works of S. Aitbaev are represented in the State Museum of Arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after A. Kasteev, in the Museum of Modern Art, Nur-Sultan. скрыть
