He graduated from Almaty Art College named after N.V.Gogol (modern Almaty College of Decorative and Applied Arts named after Oral Tansykbaev) and Lviv Polygraphic University. A unique edition of poems by Makhambet Utemisov, published specially for the 200th anniversary of the great poet, was honoured with a UNESCO gold medal in 2003. Illustrating books, Mukatov also found time to paint pictures telling about the life of inhabitants of small villages. He participated in republican and all-Union exhibitions, exhibitions of posters and book graphics in Bulgaria. Lived and worked in Almaty. Works by Tabyldy Mukatov are kept in the collection of the State Museum of Fine Arts named after A. Kasteev, private collections of Kazakhstan, Germany, Great Britain, France, Denmark. скрыть
